The PMOCafe - Online Project Management Office

As we are all aware there are thousands of projects ongoing around the world at any one time. Millions of project personnel work and interact on these projects from clerical staff to Project Managers to Programme Managers.

Yet only few of the lessons learned on these projects are collated and posted for the benefit of the wider Project Management community. Today, I've received the following announcement from Colin Adan about his new website The PMOCafe where he hopes to change that situation.

The PMOCafe is the new Online Project Management Office and it's aim is to unite project professionals from around the globe in an effort to network and share knowledge and experiences.

Currently users may post lessons for the 5 main PMI Process Groups, Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Controlling and losing. However we are about to introduce an industry specific Lessons Learned database to fully capture those problems that may only occur in a given industry.

The site also allows users to

  • post articles on project management topics of their choosing
  • vote on polls created by users or create your own. Maybe some preliminary market research or simply canvassing the views of your peers
  • create and post discussions on our Project Management forums

The PMOCafe is here to assist us all in raising the bar in Project Management and Project Execution. Learn from the experience of others and share your lessons so others may avoid those pitfalls.

We hope you can join us at the PMOCafe. The site is completely free. All we ask is that when you join you submit some content to the site.

So go ahead and give The PMOCafe a try...
