PMP Exam Experience Verification Worksheet

Here is a new worksheet to help you prepare your PMP Application. It is a Microsoft Excel 2003 file:

A big part of your application will be filling in the experience verification section. You will have to gather info about and then document all the projects that you have worked on in the past 8 years. The total hours have to add up to a minimum of 4,500 or 7,500 (depending on your educational background).

I created this worksheet to make this process easier for you: Select your educational background on the first tab. Then enter all your project information on the 2nd tab. Now go back to the first tab and see, if the total comes up to the number that you need.

I cannot make collecting the information about each project easier for you, but the worksheet is an excellent way to help gather the information before you fill in the online application. It will also help you in one additional, important aspect:

I recommend that you send this worksheet to the contact persons whom you named on the 2nd tab and ask for their feedback before you fill in the online application. These are the people who will have to approve your information if you get audited by the PMI. If you ask them before you submit the application online, then you practice proactive risk management. And that is a big part of any project.

I hope that you find the worksheet useful. Please feel free to forward it to your colleagues. You may also make it available on your own website as long as you do not make any alterations at all and include an active link back to http://www.pm-prepcast.com.
